Easy Rider retires - but dreams don't

A generation that has dominated the self-understanding of Western societies, music and art, literature, travel and social intercourse, multicultural connections, but also practicality and rootedness in barely manageable form of diversity has marked farewell to the stage of the professional life.

In the years of occupation, often initially existing interests and skills have been buried, covered and suffocated by the "necessities", the constraints of family, work, earn money, pay taxes bring. The children have grown up, the profession is less important or is abandoned.

In good health the remaining life expectancy is 20-25 years, a period with no attention of career and little attention to the social constraints.

The freedom is now on the individual level less dream than ever before, that means time for sensuality, curiosity, learning  physically and mentally travelling.

We have to trust our skills, start up on the buried and neglected interests and make wise use of our opportunities, resources and ideas.
